For the love of cushion compacts

If you follow me on Snapchat, then you’re very aware of my obsession with L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Cushion Buildable Luminous Foundation. It’s pretty much liquid foundation in a sponge, but it gives me life every time I apply it. It kind of reminds me of the Mac 2-in-1 foundation I wore many, many moons ago except that the finish is a lot more luminous and non-drying. I used to be addicted to Studio Fix before finding True Match.

Buildable foundations and cushion compacts are not new concepts but, thanks to L’Oréal, they’re a lot more convenient to attain. If you like a soft glowy look with an airbrushed finish then definitely try this out. I think it’s also a great product for, ahem, women of a “certain” age. You know, the ladies who don’t want makeup to enhance their lines? Yes, them. Us. Me. We. It can be challenging to find a foundation that won’t age you. Gosh, who wants to look in the mirror several hours after applying your makeup you’ve another 10 years? Not me! I will get there in due time, thank you very much.

In order for your makeup to look and feel natural, the tone (and undertones), consistency and coverage all need to be working together as a team. Many times, they don’t. I didn’t find that to be the case with this compact. The consistency is very forgiving. In fact, I love the end result so much, I rarely use concealer or powder with it. 

Here’s to another product making things a bit simpler. Less time getting ready is always a win!
