On the stoop with Nike Classic Cortez

I’ve been loving my new Nike’s from WSS. I talk about them here in this post about my baby steps back into cardio life.In fact, I started adding a lot more jogging and a bit of hiking to the mix, and am feeling so energized and focused throughout the day. But instead of getting myself another pair of sneakers or a cute pair of booties (and believe me, I was tempted), I decided to use this second collaboration with WSS to get a pair of sneakers for a trip my son took to Philly last month.
My son shares my love for old school sneakers and the importance of keeping your kicks clean. Growing up in the Bronx’s hip-hop culture of the 80s left its mark on me when it comes to how you care for your shoes. Sneakers had to be clean. No scuffs. Laces needed to be bleach white and the soles kept new. We took a lot of pride in things we were able to wear where I come from, and I’m proud that my son is starting to exhibit that same sense of appreciation. Although he likes to keep things casual and loves himself a comfortable hooded sweatshirt, he cleans his sneakers all the time and irons his pants before heading out anywhere, including school.
While picking out which color he preferred in the Nike Classic Cortez, he noticed that WSS also had a huge collection of Jordan products, so he picked out a sweatshirt. I also grabbed him socks and a sports cap. He liked his finds so much, he wore it for his trip to Philly. In fact, this picture was shot hours before heading to LAX. He won’t be using these sneakers for sports, as they’re strictly for keeping his outfits so crisp and so clean. But we’re definitely returning to get him a pair for Phys Ed.
If you’re looking to get your kids sneakers at a great price, check out WSS. They have a huge selection for the whole family and have over 70 locations in California, Las Vegas and Phoenix. They carry brands like Nike, Jordan, adidas, Converse, Under Armor, New Balance, Asics, Vans, Puma, and Sketchers. So if you’re kid is a skater, basketball player or a just wants to look cool, WSS is a great place to visit.
