A mosaic experience
We get so caught up in the day to day, we forget that there are so many things to do and places to stay right in our backyard. Sure. Staycations and family trips can cost a pretty penny and it’s much easier to just stay home or do something quick locally … But I find that investing in memories and experiences is far more important than collecting “things.” I would rather spend more on a weekend trip or a little day trip indulgence with my guys than to be wasteful during the week. I was never one for buying a bunch of items anyway. As much as I love clothes, I love a good sale even better. I would much rather spend my dollars worth on things that will give me a return in value and peace of mind.
Nothing beats quality time with my family at home but a poolside drink at a luxury hotel ain’t ever hurt anybody either. I certainly do not mind kicking my feet up while being served a mimosa.
I recently invited to take a tour and hang out at Mosaic Hotel – a luxury boutique hotel in the heart of Beverly Hills. The hotel was just redesigned into an oasis of earth tone fabrics and furniture with a backdrop of whimsical , colorful artwork. The sunlit entrance, white walls and mirror decor reminded of me of some the hotels I stayed in when visiting South Beach. And you all know I love Miami. It’s where I fell in love with my fiancè. What started as a casual dinner on Ocean Drive during one of my work trips turned into the love story of my life. But that’s another post!

Love Stitch harem, Steve Madden Presidnt heels
The heat in LA is not letting up. This Love Stitch harem is everything I need to get me through these blistering days. My only regret is cutting bangs during summer! What was I thinking? They were fun a for few weeks, but I forgot how hard they make you work.

Jumpsuits, rompers and harems have been my go-to all summer. They can be dressed up or down, and can be worm=n for many occasions. In fact, you can have your swimsuit underneath and go for a swim.

While my son hung out with friends, my fiancè and got lost in conversation as we ‘brunched’ over a few drinks. The hotel restaurant is intimate with a view of the pool through its white French doors. Moments like this are so needed in long-term relationships. Dating the person you live with or married to is so important. Believe me, I know it’s hard to muster up the energy sometimes. Work and family life can make a weekend with Netflix the norm (and, hey, that’s fine too!) but you have to take time to add a bit of romance and time alone (outside of the house) as well.
Although we did not stay the night, we were given a tour of the hotel and its amenities. The suites were quite large and luxe, while the rooms were cozy and perfect for two. Some rooms lead right into the pool area for those of us who want to just dive in first thing in the morning. I liked those the best. But I’m also a fan of boutique hotels that offer tons of convenience and personality. I’ve stayed at huge chains all over the country, and nothing beats the attention to detail you get from a smaller place.
