Spring fashion at Kohl’s
I’m back it again with another collaboration with my friends at Kohl’s!
Spring fashion at Kohl’s
The idea for this post was to come up with an outfit for Spring. Sounds simple enough, right? Wrong. I was like a kid in a candy store running around grabbing dresses, skirts, shorts, tops, maxis, blazers, you name it. After trying on a ridiculous amount of clothing, I finally decided on this Jennifer Lopez Shadow-Stripe Sheath in white, which goes so perfect with any of her bags, really.
Funny thing about this dress is that it was the last one I tried on. It wasn’t one of the first pieces I picked up at all. I wanted to stay away from a neutral color, and try something new. But neutrals are so me. They just call my name. What can I say, I love a clean Spring look. After going through every color in the rainbow, this was the winner.
The next thing on my list was to add a bit of bling and a pop of color to my look, which is was easy to find in Lauren Conrad‘s collection of suit jackets and jewelry. She has everything from super feminine floral necklaces to modern designs, like the one I’m wearing here. If you love Spring colors, she’s the one.
OK. So pink and white, pink and white. My thoughts were: Do I want a shoe with a pop of color? Do I just keep the same color palette? Do I play it up with the bag? Decisions, decisions. With dress, blazer and jewelry in hand, I headed over to the Kohl’s shoes department to find a pair of heels that will bring this look together. These ankle strap sandals by Apt. 9 were it. They just had Rachel written all over them. They come in black, silver and metallic. Guess who’s going back for them? This lady!
The finale to the outfit was the bag. This is where I could totally go crazy if I wanted to. But at this point, I had a theme going on and wanted to stick with it. Can you tell I love styling outfits? I really get into it, my friends. I was sold on the texture and hardware of this Jennifer Lopez wristlet. I also loved that it was a beautiful, light truffle color (and mauve) with a purple undertone. I think it coordinated really well with my color scheme without being too matchy/matchy.
Here’s the dress without a jacket. It’s coming with me to Mom 2.0n this month in Laguna Beach. I’m definitely going back to Kohl’s to give it a fresh look for the conference. I’ll be sure to share what I come up with!
