Aging while you sleep

I’m not going to start this post and pretend that there’s not an adorable furry guest in the photo who needs to approve all of my makeup remover picks, like this one from Neutrogena. That’s Apollo, and he always has to make a debut when I take product shots. In fact, this was moments before he knocked everything down. But this was too cute not to share. Plus, he’s a pro at resting and knows what to do to avoid aging while you sleep.

OK, maybe he doesn’t.

Now I know I sound biased. Our company #WeAllGrow Latina Network has been working with Neutrogena since 2011. But I’m not getting paid to write this. I’ve actually really learned a great deal about their products and truly, truly love and use them. Hands down, they’re the best when it comes to cleansing products for all types of skin. I mean, have you tried their makeup remover wipes? I can’t live without them. 

I’m also loving their Ultra Light Cleansing Oil. It’s easy to use, gentle on your skin (but super effective) and not as greasy as you would think. You just need to dab a small amount with a cotton pad. Cleansing oils are great if you have dry skin or wear heavy makeup. But make sure you follow up with a regular cleanser. Makeup remover of any type is not meant to substitute thorough cleansing. 

I can’t stress enough how important it is to remove your makeup before bed every night. Trust me, I know what it’s like to be so exhausted you can’t even fathom turning the sink on to wash my face. But it’s unavoidable, and you have to make the time. Going to sleep with a full face on is a sure fire way to expedite the aging process. Our skin does not like dirt and makeup trapped in our pores. It makes it dry, which slows down the renewal process and gives those fine wrinkles the unwanted spotlight before their time. Also, think of all the environmental pollutants sticking to your face while you’re out? Do you really want that on your pillow?

I’ve tried a few different makeup remover products over the years. Neutrogena, as you know, is my favorite but there a few other brands out there that do a really great job too.
