opulence

Another gorgeous evening of art. Lonely Opulent Things features twelve paintings by artist Kukula, who I had the privilege of sharing a bit of girl talk with. In person, the paintings are filled with familiar imagery that carry very literal and symbolic meaning alongside beautifully executed doll like subjects. The Baroque-style frames were also exquisite. I have a thing for ultra feminine art reminiscent of French aristocracy and a bit of fairy tale. I do.

And then, Time Stood Still. The dark and elegant images below are from artist Natalie Shau. She uses a mixture of photography, digital painting, and 3D elements. The work is striking and beautifully dark.

This show is hanging at Corey Helford and will be up until October 15. Check it out!
