James Jean Rebus

Last night, we heard that James Jean was showing his new pieces at Martha Otero Gallery (on view until April 30). Perhaps the imagery lives in my subconscious mind or it’s all coincidental but these depictions of deities in a romanticized apocalyptic environment seemed far too real.

I have been consumed by what is happening in Japan these paintings left an impact on me.
