Conference ready

In case you haven’t noticed, I’ve been on conference speaker mode as of late. My 5th one this year will be Mom 2.0, which is coming up next month. One of my goals for the new year was to share everything I’ve learned so far in the digital world, and I was not kidding around when I said this would be the year I speak up. I’ve been very quiet about my journey, my work and the things that have made me the person I am today. Believe it or not, I’m pretty introverted. Although you may see me socializing all over the place, I keep most things to myself or within very tight circles.

Much of that is changing.

Conference ready

Public speaking requires preparation, and that includes what you wear, especially in the blogger world. Everything is photographed, periscoped, snapchatted, Instagrammed and Facebooked. You don’t have to be all decked out, but you certainly want to present the best version of yourself. I tend to go with a subtle color and a more more conservative look. You can pretty much wear whatever makes you feel comfortable but business casual always helps to put me in the speaker mind-set. To take my confidence to the next level, I add a red lip and sexy heel. Then I’m ready to slay.

But slaying for me does not mean that I’m about to drop all my hard earned money on expensive shoes, clothes and bags. Oh, I love me some designer clothes (do not get me wrong) but practicality always wins my heart (and wallet) in the end. My goal is to look ready to show up and show out, while my pesitos go toward priorities.

If you’re trying to build your business, you have to be smart with your dollars. But that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style. It may require a bit of hunting to find something that is chic and budget-friendly, but your bank account will thank you later. I love my WSS heels for that reason. They’re perfect for completing an outfit that needs a bit of texture or a touch of print. You will seriously not believe how much they cost. Not bad for a heel that gets me a ton of compliments. They’re comfortable to wear and extremely versatile.

If you’re looking to add a few extra shoes to your wardrobe (and, I mean, who isn’t?), check out WSS.
