Closet essentials

Chic, sexy and comfortable? It’s possible, my friends. It is possible. You know I’m all about modern, clean and effortless style. I don’t like a lot of fuss. You don’t need to do a lot to make the most out of your look. You just need to know what works for your body, curate your personal closet essentials and take it from there. Style is something you exude when you feel good about what you’re wearing – the fit, colors, design, silhouette, and so on.

This mesh top (because sexy!), versatile tunic and flare pant from Smash and Scott is everything right now. The fabric alone says I’m confident and I know what I like. If you’ve got curves, it will give you all the smooth lines you need. I added a belt for a little more texture but it looks great without it too. The flare pant is also so, so flattering. I mean, I’m 5’6″ and I have all types of height in these photos. I already have a few ideas for how I plan to wear them this Spring. In fact, all three pieces can be remixed into entirely different looks.

If you’re not familiar with Smash and Scott, check out their look book. I love that they focus on dressing the creative and powerful woman, who is out there making it happen for herself. Whether she’s a size 4 or 14, it’s all about being comfortable without sacrificing style. And let me tell you, that’s hard. I’m always trying to that balance, especially when I work conferences. I’m forever on the hunt for ageless—pieces that can be worn over and over in different ways. Mission accomplished.
